Socks: More Than Just Footwear
Many people see socks as something you simply put on your feet, but socks are so much more than that.
It's about quality, materials, traditions, and choosing the right socks for your outfit. In this guide, we aim to answer these questions and more.
Materials:
Which Sock Material Should You Choose?
The Difference Between Cotton and Combed Cotton
The difference between cotton and combed cotton lies in the processing. Regular cotton is spun into yarn immediately, while combed cotton is first carded (combed). This removes short fibers and any impurities, leaving only the long, smooth cotton fibers. This makes combed cotton exceptionally soft and highly durable. All of our socks are cotton socks.
SockiSocki socks shrink about 1% after the first wash when washed at 40°C.
The Cotton Sock
Cotton socks are incredibly comfortable to wear. Additionally, cotton socks were the first "real" socks. Cotton feels great on the feet and is durable, which means your cotton socks will last longer.
Other advantages of using cotton socks include the natural stretch, ensuring they don't feel tight but still stay snug, and like wool and bamboo socks, cotton is also great at wicking moisture away from your feet.
A cotton sock can also be washed at higher temperatures than other socks without falling apart.
We’ve also designed our popular sports socks in cotton because they are so comfortable during physical activity. They fit snugly without irritation, and they remove sweat from your feet, so you can focus on your sport. We highly recommend these socks for sports.
All our socks are either cotton or bamboo socks, available in solid colors or various stylish patterns that work for everyday use, work, and especially for parties.
All of our socks come with integrated snap buttons, so you can snap the socks. . .

All of our socks come with integrated snap buttons, so you can snap the socks together before tossing them in the washing machine. This prevents your socks from disappearing in the laundry. Did you know that, according to a study, we lose an average of 1.3 socks every month in the wash?
Sock and Style
Which Socks Pair Well With Your Style? Are There Rules for This?
When it comes to casual wear, there are no real rules other than those your partner gives you!
Jeans Style:
If you're a jeans kind of person, our colorful socks are super cool. A patterned sock pairs perfectly with a pair of stylish sneakers, jeans, or a great pair of shorts. Find a color in your shoes that also matches the socks for a coordinated look.
Suit Style:
If you're the type who wears a suit to work, a patterned sock will give your suit a more stylish edge, much like a tie does. If you're more of a casual type and prefer fewer colors, we have classic men's socks, or the simple solid-color socks that our concept started with.
Smart Socks with a Unique Snap Button System
The idea for the integrated snap buttons came from a common everyday problem: finding matching pairs of socks after laundry. But we also noticed, as mentioned earlier, that socks often go missing in the washing machine. The solution was integrated snap buttons so that socks could be clicked together. This ensures matching socks stay together—both before, during, and after washing. Now you can avoid wasting time searching for missing socks or wondering where the laundry machine has hidden them.
For the Sports Enthusiast
If you're into sports, we have only two types of socks for you—two classics! One is the black sports sock we all know, but ours comes with a discreet red button on the rib of the sock. This is a super comfortable sock for when you're moving fast on the football field, in the gym, or wherever you practice your favorite sport.
The other is a classic sports sock from the 1980s: our white sports sock with blue and red stripes at the top. This is a sock we can call a retro sock, as it is definitely making a comeback in fashion. Once again, a super cool sports sock.
Traditions
What Traditions Surround Socks?
The most famous sock tradition is the tradition of cutting the groom's sock during the wedding dance.
But why is this done? The tradition dates back to the 1800s and relates to the phrase “making one's hose (socks) green” with the chosen one. Since the groom has succeeded in “making his hose green” and has won the love of his bride, he no longer needs to go out courting other unmarried women. Therefore, his socks are cut to ensure he won’t be “looking around” anymore.
Thus, the groom, if following tradition, should wear green socks on his wedding day.
Socks in Sandals
The infamous "tradition," if you can call it that, is definitely socks in sandals. Wearing socks in sandals has long been considered a fashion faux pas and perhaps the definition of bad taste. But various high-profile fashion houses have stated that socks in sandals are making a comeback. So, if you want to be a trendsetter this summer—or the next—be sure to grab a pair of sandals and choose the right socks from our webshop.

Why Have We Chosen This Specific Blend for Our Socks?
-
80% Combed Cotton: Chosen for a fine, smooth surface and long-lasting quality.
-
17% Polyamide: Adds durability, thanks to polyamide's strong properties.
-
3% Elastane: Ensures the socks adapt to your feet and stay in place.
Construction
When sewing our socks, we use 2/30 thread. By using 2 x 1/30 threads, we ensure top-notch quality and durability, which is important to us so that customers can feel the difference when they wear SockiSocki socks.
At our factory in Turkey, we use machines with 168 needles. This provides numerous design possibilities, which we take full advantage of in many of our socks. It also gives the socks a finer mesh, ensuring longer-lasting wear.
All our socks feature a hand-finished toe, allowing for free toe movement without an irritating seam at the toe. The unique design makes our socks perfect for wearing all day at work or during sports, without thinking about your socks.
